Taking two fundamentally different approaches to technology – a hard, or technical approach, and a soft, or social approach – as her starting point, the Italian-Canadian researcher looks at the potential that scientific visualisation offers, where the existence of an incredible variety of solutions is the key to the many, and at times crucial, discoveries that have led to progress in virus research.
