Alba Mater – APOTROPIA

technical support: Daniele Suppo

“Alba Mater” is a video installation and immersive performance in three acts. Three theriomorphic representations of the nature of the feminine. A work influenced by symbolic elements that recur in various human cultures. How the installation works: Wearing a VR headset, viewers find themselves inside a cave, with three symbols impressed into the walls. When activated, each symbol takes the viewer into a different setting, where the performances take place.

APOTROPIA is a duo found by Antonella Mignone and Cristiano Panepuccia. Their research explores the interconnections between the performative languages and the various audiovisual practices. Their works have been exhibited in several festivals, including Japan Media Arts Festival, WRO Media Art Biennale, Ars Electronica, BLOOOM Award.
