Workshop – The Augmented City according to AOS

Two important dates on the Lombardy calendar of AOS—Art Is Open Source, the artistic project of Salvatore Iacoesi and Orianna Persico, who will be holding two workshops in Milan and Brescia on the reappropriation of urban maps.
Like heaven, like earth is a workshop organized by MELTING POT at the Cantiere Creativo on May 18th, where the artists will take participants on an astro-psychogeographic walk to remap the city, in search of constellations lurking in alleyways, streets and intersections.
In their guided tour of the concepts and practices of psychogeography, workshop participants, using accessible, easy-to-use location-based technologies and platforms, will be invited to search for constellation-shaped figures on the urban map, so as to recreate them on the ground—all on foot around town.
At the end of the walking tour, the new astro-psychogeographic maps produced by the participants will be shared and displayed. A new city of stars is set to be created.

The workshop is open to a maximum number of 20 participants.
Duration: approx. 8–9 hours.
Workshop fee: €90 or €75 for people who register by forwarding the Piemonte Share Newsletter, for people who register by May 6th, and for people who register in both the Milan and Brescia workshops.

On May 19th–20th, AOS—Art Is Open Source will be holding a second workshop in Brescia entitled LAYERS, organized by Ualuba.org at the Centro Arti & Tecnologie. The intensive, two-day workshop will engage participants in the creation of a ubiquitous cinema experience: an augmented reality movie spread throughout the city, which can be watched by moving through space.
