ORCHESTRA MECCANICA MARINETTI plays Nag Hammadi
Novembre 3-5  6.30 p.m. Museo Regionale di Scienze Naturali

The orchestra consists of two robot drummers that play steel drums “live”, under the direction of a performer. The robots play drums like in a tribal gathering, but the drums are oil cans; they are the physical bodies of the “machine”, struggling not to be forgotten trough the rhetoric of the data flows.?Nag Hammadi is about the relationships between human and machine, between literature and pure data, between media wars and news flows, between organic bodies and inorganic organisms.

ANDREA VALLE – LA TERRA GUASTA
November 7th  tp.m. – Galleria Allegretti Contemporanea

La terra guasta” is an installation based on motorized sound sources controlled by the computer.  The work is a part of a larger project dedicated to the construction and use of computer-controlled acoustic sound sources.  Following an ecological perspective,  each piece of the percussion ensemble is made by associating a small DC motor, typically scavenged from discarded electronics (CD/DVD players, mobile phones, toys) to a resonator.
